Donna Get Well Donation Request
As some of you may already know, Donna from the main office has been in the hospital now for over 3 weeks. She is still in recovery and we are hoping she will be released next week sometime. Donna watches over all of the little ones in the PE shelter each morning and works hard making copies for all of the teachers and at the front desk in the main office at our school. She is slowly improving and the PTA would like to help lift her spirits by taking up donations to help her get back on her feet when she gets to go home. The PTA will have a DONATION JAR in the Supply Store and at the front desk in the main office from January 7th-14th for kids and parents to drop in donations to deliver to her next week. We will also have a large roll of art paper and crayons for students to sign a Get Well Wish for her in the cafeteria in the mornings.

PTA Vice President Vacancy
Dear Parents,
The PTA would like to inform you that we have had a vacancy in the position of President and as the bylaws state, the Vice President will assume the responsibilities of the position of President.
The position of Vice President will be filled by a majority vote by the PTA Board following an election period of 7 days.
As of December 8, 2014, any person interested in fulfilling the role of PTA Vice President, should submit their name and contact information directly to President@RKBPTA.com.
The PTA Board will hold a meeting on December 16, 2014 at 8:45 am to elect a new Vice president. Please note that multiple individuals may run for the same position as co-chairs.
Winter Concert Thursday 6:30pm
This Thursday December 11th 6:30PM Cafeteria/Stage
Winter concert by our music department directed by Mr. R, Ms.Rubin and Ms. Porter.
$2 per person or $5 for families of three or more.
Tickets are available at the door.
Performances by our string orchestra, guitar ensemble, choirs, vocal and instrumental groups.
Influenza Prevention Campaign
Miami-Dade County Public Schools, in collaboration with Healthy Schools and the Florida Department of Health in Miami-Dade County, will be conducting an influenza (FLU) prevention campaign.
The flu vaccine will be administered via nasal spray option (flu mist) which makes it easier to administer to students. A consent form was sent home on Monday, December 8th, 2014.
Students who return the signed consent form by Thursday, December 11th will receive the vaccine, free of charge, on Monday, December 15th.
